Requirements
Must:
We are seeking an experienced Network Architect with deep expertise in legacy technologies and a strong background in secure environments. SCC clearance will be required for this role. The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong knowledge of legacy circuit-switched networks and point-to-point connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with TDM multiplexers/demultiplexers, synchronization, and QoS implementation.
- A deep understanding of SDH, WDM, ATM, Frame Relay, and circuit to packet emulation (CTP).
- Proven ability to configure and manage routers, switches, and older network devices.
- Familiarity with security measures including encryption, authentication, and secure routing protocols.
- Skills in diagnosing and resolving complex network issues in hybrid network environments.
- Previous experience working within or supporting Defence or National Security sectors is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will be responsible for:
- Designing, implementing, and supporting medium to large-scale network solutions using legacy and modern networking technologies.
- Collaborating with service and project teams to understand business and technical requirements.
- Producing high-quality design documentation and leading design governance reviews.
- Providing hands-on support for configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of network components.
Description
This position is based in Birmingham on a permanent basis and offers a salary between £60K-£70K, along with a £6K car allowance and a 10% bonus. The role will be primarily onsite for 4 days per week.
