Requirements

Must:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong interest in IT, technology, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will possess good communication and interpersonal skills, the willingness to learn, and the ability to take direction from more senior team members. It is essential to work well both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks are also important. A polite, approachable, and professional manner is expected. Although not essential, a college qualification or degree in an IT-related subject is desirable.

Responsibilities

As an IT Technician Intern, I will provide first-line technical support to end users via phone, email, and in person. I will assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software. Supporting the setup of IT equipment, including PCs, laptops, printers, interactive panels, and mobile devices, will be a key part of my role. I will troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues, escalating them when necessary, and help maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets. I will also support the rollout of updates and patches to systems and devices, assist in managing user accounts, passwords, and access rights, and maintain cleanliness and organization in IT workspaces and storage areas. Additionally, I will contribute to documentation, guides, and help resources for users while following all data protection, safeguarding, and health and safety policies.

Description

This role offers a paid internship for 12 months with a salary of £25,397 per annum. I will work 40 hours per week, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, including a 60-minute unpaid lunch break each day. The position includes 23 days of holiday, plus bank holidays, and several benefits such as complimentary lunch, free tickets to college performances, a job-specific learning and development program, life cover after successful probation, a contributory pension scheme, and access to an employee benefits and rewards platform. There will also be opportunities for wellbeing, including a subsidized gym membership and personalized health consultations. I understand that Brighton College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and that any employment offer will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks.
