Requirements
Must:
As our Senior Desktop Analyst, you will ideally have:
- A minimum of Level 3 National Qualification in IT or a Computing related subject.
- Good interpersonal and written skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- A demonstrable proven track record in customer service skills.
- A methodical approach to problem solving.
- Good organizational skills.
- A demonstrable passion for IT and IT Systems.
- Good knowledge of IT hardware and experience in PC maintenance.
- At least 3 years' experience in:
- Supporting Windows Operating Systems and software applications.
- IT network administration, including the use of Active Directory tools.
- Working within IT and network support.
Responsibilities
In my role as Senior Desktop Analyst, I will be a key part of a customer-focused IT Services team and fundamental to delivering:
- An IT desktop experience that meets the needs of all users.
- Application deployment, desktop automation, and remote support systems.
- Enterprise endpoint security.
My responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring that all tasks and developments are documented for colleagues to refer to.
- Making sure that workstations have the latest critical and security patches applied to protect against cyber security threats, malware, and viruses, thereby maintaining our Cyber Essentials accreditation.
- Ensuring workstations and systems meet our obligations regarding safeguarding and online safety, protecting students and staff from harmful content.
- Keeping up-to-date with technical developments and providing additional documentation as necessary.
- Assisting Network Managers with the maintenance of College IT networks, including network security, LAN and wireless infrastructure, and voice systems as directed.
- Providing ongoing support and advice to students and staff using College IT systems.
- Promoting the use of IT systems and Unified Communication tools available to ensure that the appropriate College systems are employed to support roles.
- Liaising with academic staff to identify and respond to their changing and challenging IT and application requirements for excellent teaching.
- Ensuring that all College IT Desktop systems are well maintained in accordance with educational practices and health and safety regulations, reporting cases of abuse of IT and presentation systems, and taking appropriate remedial action.
- Performing servicing and repair of IT, presentation, and voice systems.
- Supporting existing desktop systems, including:
- Microsoft Active Directory computer, user, and group administration.
- User and computer group policy.
- Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager for deploying workstation images and applications.
- Microsoft InTune endpoint enrollment.
- Microsoft and Apple remote management tools.
