Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst, or similar roles.
- Expertise in the Microsoft BI Stack, with a track record of delivering fast-paced releases.
- Experience working with the latest Azure data platform technologies, specifically Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Databricks.
- Hands-on experience in Databricks, particularly in the design and usage of the Delta Lake storage format.
- Familiarity with working in a Scrum environment and experience with source control repositories such as Git to manage the codebase.
- In-depth understanding of database structure principles, along with experience in the build and maintenance of a Lakehouse.
- Expertise in SQL, SPARK, and Python.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of our business model and products to provide insightful leadership on the necessary data models to optimize value and opportunity.
- Design and implement effective data solutions and models that align with our business requirements and support our data strategy.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of data systems and infrastructure.
- Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
- Assess database implementation procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external governance regulations.
- Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
- Support the planning, impact analysis, and scheduling of migrations from legacy data systems to new solutions.
- Monitor system performance through regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
- Collaborate with Digital and application teams to find optimal solutions for delivering data use cases through current and augmented technologies.
- Stay informed about emerging data technologies and best practices.
- Work with Procurement and the business to select the most appropriate technology to meet data demands.
- Recommend solutions to improve both new and existing database systems.
- Educate, inspire, and influence business stakeholders through presentations, training, and individual support.
- Offer timely support in response to system problems.
- Actively participate as a member of the Architectural Design Board.

At Bibby Financial Services, we have an exciting opportunity for a Data Architect to join our team, working in any of our UK locations with travel to Banbury required when necessary. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary ranging from £80,000 – £100,000 per annum.
