Must:
To be successful as a Senior Application DBA, I need you to have experience as a Senior Level Database Administrator with expertise as an application DBA for Oracle or similar database technologies. You should possess excellent skills in Oracle SQL query writing, Import/Export Utilities, and solving database contention with application teams. SQL query optimization and performance tuning skills are essential, particularly in addressing slow SQL response and database response issues. Additionally, strong experience in partitioning, index management, tablespace management, and physicalizing data model concepts is required. I also value experience working with large, distributed, high-performance, high-availability databases that ensure 24/7 uptime. Familiarity with data migration tools and software, as well as experience with databases like MariaDB, MongoDB, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, would be an added advantage. Proven experience in executing database migrations, upgrades, and decommission strategies at an enterprise scale is essential, along with a proven track record of implementing SRE practices across large organizations or complex teams. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Jenkins, Liquibase, Oracle SQLcL, Shell, BASH, and UNIX is also important.
Responsibilities
In this role, I need you to build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems. This involves leveraging hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms to ensure the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology by applying software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response. Your accountabilities will include the development, delivery, and maintenance of high-quality infrastructure solutions that meet business requirements, incident management through monitoring of IT infrastructure and system performance, and the use of data to drive down mean time to resolution. Additionally, you will develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency, enforce security measures to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and stay informed about industry technology trends and innovations.
