Requirements
Must:
- Ideally, I am looking for candidates with 1+ years of experience with PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens TIA Portal, CODESYS, LUA, Beckhoff, TwinCAT, WAGO e!COCKPIT).
- Proven experience in developing logic for industrial automation or plant systems is essential.
- Familiarity with control system design principles is required.
- I expect candidates to be skilled in testing and debugging both simulated and live systems.
- Experience in areas such as plant, manufacturing, HVAC, refrigeration, compression systems, and engine management is ideal.
- Candidates should have knowledge of networking, routers, firewalls, and industrial communication protocols.
- Experience with RDM, Python, dashboard technology, scripting, testing, and GUI development is preferred.
- I would also appreciate familiarity with cloud computing and visualization tools.
Responsibilities
- I will need you to design, develop, enhance, and test PLC-based control applications.
- You will implement and debug logic for real-time systems, control panels, and industrial automation networks.
- It will be your responsibility to translate functional specifications into detailed, maintainable, and scalable program logic with an emphasis on safety.
- I expect you to integrate third-party hardware and protocols effectively.
- Maintaining accurate technical documentation, version control, and configuration backups in accordance with our internal quality processes will be crucial.
- You will diagnose and resolve issues in live environments, supporting both local and remote troubleshooting.
Description
At our company, I am looking for a Software Developer who will play a key role in developing and maintaining high-quality PLC-based control and monitoring software to support industrial plant and machine systems. The role involves ensuring that the developed and programmed solutions are reliable and safe, delivered in line with technical specifications, engineering standards, and customer requirements. You will work closely with our internal teams to support the full life cycle of control systems, including design, testing, commissioning, and operational troubleshooting while maintaining robust documentation and configuration control. This position is based in Stafford, offering a hybrid work arrangement of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. We offer a competitive salary ranging from £30K to £45K a year.
