Requirements
Must:
- Experience in creating map visualizations using Leaflet (JavaScript).
- Proficient in coding frontend and backend web applications in Python and Django, including HTML and CSS.
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative coding, ideally using Azure DevOps, along with maintaining Agile style boards.
- Experience in building, deploying, and managing CI/CD pipelines for web applications using Azure cloud technologies.
- Proficient in working with MS-SQL and other databases, performing ETL processes.
- Experience in building and hosting applications in Azure using PaaS and other components.
- Ability to integrate applications with APIs.
- Knowledge of authenticating and authorizing access to applications using AAD and claims-based token approaches.
- Understanding of web-based accessibility, security, and code testing standards.
- Experience in training team members in Python and Django for building data visualization applications is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web-based mapping tools utilizing Python and the Django framework.
- Create engaging map visualizations and ensure they are user-friendly.
- Collaborate with the team to implement version control and manage coding projects effectively.
- Utilize Azure cloud technologies to build and deploy applications, ensuring CI/CD pipelines are functional.
- Handle database management and perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Ensure application security and accessibility standards are met.
Description
This position primarily offers remote work, with occasional travel required for workshops in London, Bristol, or Manchester. The duration of the contract is initially until September 2025, with a rate of £550 to £600 per day, inside IR35.
