Requirements
Must:
- A vast understanding of configuration management.
- Broad working knowledge of technical engineering or information management-based projects.
- A working knowledge of using TeamCenter.
- ONC/HNC/HND/NVQ3/NVQ4 level in a STEM vocational qualification supported by considerable practical experience in a mechanical, electrical, or systems discipline.
- Experience in delivering engineering solutions that meet safety and performance requirements.
- Ability to comply with the design intent across the full engineering lifecycle.
- Skills in planning and executing tasks to deliver agreed objectives on time, within quality and cost requirements.
- Commitment to maintaining high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
- Experience in delivering Systems Engineering solutions in relation to defined requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to engage others and complete tasks effectively.
- Desire to support developing engineers in their career progression and the production of engineering solutions.
- Ability to identify and support opportunities for cost savings and business improvements.
- Proactive in expanding engineering skills and taking ownership of personal training and development.
- Experience in leading, coaching, and developing teams to meet delivery objectives.
- Commitment to leading by example with a focus on positive behaviors and safety culture.
- Awareness of Systems Engineering best practices and wider systems issues.
- Ability to contribute to identifying appropriate resources.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the Corporate Configuration Management Strategy and Standards within designated areas of responsibility.
- Ensure a consistent Configuration Management System across all product areas.
- Manage design intent across the full engineering lifecycle.
- Engage effectively with stakeholders to positively impact decisions and program delivery.
- Deliver engineering solutions that fulfill safety and performance requirements.
- Plan and execute tasks to achieve targeted objectives regarding time, quality, and cost.
- Promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality.
- Support the development of junior engineers through mentoring and guidance.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and enhancements for business processes.
- Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams to reach delivery objectives.
- Maintain awareness of and promote Systems Engineering best practices.
Description
We at AWE are currently recruiting for Senior Configuration Engineers to join our Product Configuration Management Team, supporting Warhead Engineering on various technical projects. Our working pattern includes a 9-day work fortnight, providing flexibility to fit your lifestyle. Given the classified nature of the work, most of your time will be spent on-site at AWE.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from £49,480 to £60,000, depending on your qualifications and experience.
