Requirements
Must:
- Active SC Clearance (non-negotiable) and willingness to undergo DV if required.
- Demonstrable experience deploying open-source LLMs (Llama, Mistral, Falcon) on-premises.
- Expertise in local vector databases (Chroma, FAISS, Weaviate) in offline deployments.
- Strong experience in vLLM/Text Generation Inference for high-throughput model serving.
- Proven ability to work on air-gapped systems without external package repositories.
- Experience with GPU orchestration (NVIDIA A100/H100) and CUDA optimisation.
- Proficiency in Python with offline dependency management and local package mirrors.
Responsibilities
- I will build end-to-end RAG pipelines on isolated defence networks utilizing open-source LLMs (Llama 3, Mistral, Qwen).
- I will deploy local vector stores (Chroma, FAISS, Milvus) with sensitive document ingestion pipelines.
- I will host and optimize LLMs using vLLM/TGI on local GPU clusters without internet connectivity.
- I will implement agent orchestration using LangChain/LangGraph in completely offline environments.
- I will design secure document processing for classified materials, ensuring appropriate data sanitization.
- I will build monitoring and evaluation systems that operate within air-gapped infrastructures.
Description
This role is focused on supporting our defence client by developing classified AI capabilities on air-gapped infrastructure, ensuring there are zero external dependencies. Our technical stack includes models like Llama 3, Mistral, and Qwen, as well as vector stores such as Chroma, FAISS, and Milvus. We prioritize using orchestration tools like LangChain and LangGraph for agents and rely on vLLM, TGI, and Ollama hosting on bare metal or private cloud infrastructures. Desirable skills include familiarity with defence/government IT security protocols, knowledge of CIS benchmarks and NCSC guidelines, experience with cross-domain solutions and data diodes, and an understanding of classification marking and handling procedures.
