Requirements
Must:
I am looking for candidates with a strong skill set that includes:
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques (dimensional, 3NF)
- Experience working with modern data platforms such as Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, or similar
- Strong knowledge of Python and/or PySpark for data transformation and orchestration
- Familiarity with orchestration tools like Data Factory, Dataflow Gen2, or Databricks Workflows
- Expertise in dashboard performance tuning, DirectQuery, and incremental refresh
- A cloud-native mindset with experience in Azure, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
- Comfort with REST APIs, GitHub Actions, and ML Ops tooling
- A background in Agile delivery, peer reviews, and test-driven development
- Please note that all candidates must be based in the UK.
Responsibilities
In this role, I expect you to:
- Architect relational and Lakehouse schemas using platforms such as Fabric and Databricks or their equivalents
- Rebuild legacy SSAS cubes into scalable Lakehouse models
- Design medallion architectures and govern data pipelines effectively
- Build and orchestrate ETL/ELT flows across various systems including ERP, WMS, e-commerce, IoT, and APIs
- Deliver performant and insightful dashboards using Power BI or similar tools
- Prepare curated datasets for AI/ML workflows and automation
- Implement CI/CD, Git-based source control, and workspace deployment automation
- Define and enforce data governance, lineage, and catalog standards
- Upskill analysts through comprehensive documentation, enablement initiatives, and effective stakeholder engagement
Description
We are seeking a hands-on Data & Analytics Engineer with deep technical expertise across modern data platforms and analytics tooling. This role offers broad ownership, from platform architecture to dashboard delivery, making it an excellent fit for someone who thrives in end-to-end data environments. Please note that this position has on-site requirements and will initially be a 6-month contract.
