Requirements
Must:
- I need you to design and implement systems and software that meet our requirements using appropriate tools and methods.
- You will promote the creation of high-quality code by committing to practices such as test-driven development, pair programming, and code reviews.
- You will be responsible for the technical development of all stages of software creation, including testing, to ensure that implementations meet security, performance, and safety requirements.
- I expect you to suggest improvements to our codebase, development processes, tooling, and working practices. We encourage you to be innovative by identifying, evaluating, and adopting emerging technologies.
- You will assist with the design, implementation, and testing of APIs that adhere to the Open API specification.
Responsibilities
- You should have a demonstrated commercial software development experience.
- Practical experience in system design, development, testing, and operational stability is necessary.
- You must possess deep knowledge and experience in Python and its ecosystem, along with its patterns and pitfalls.
- Experience in applying continuous delivery, test-driven development, and pair programming is essential.
- Familiarity with working in an agile environment, specifically an understanding of Scrum principles, is required.
- Experience writing and consuming RESTful APIs in Python is a must.
- Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch) is crucial.
- You should have experience creating web application UIs using ReactJS and TypeScript.
Description
In this role, you will work closely with our Head of Engineering, Head of Data Science, QA Manager, Lead Software Developers, Software Developers, and Chief Technology Officer. You will also collaborate across the organization, and we are looking for someone who sees opportunities, is proactive, and energetic, with a desire to make a difference in the way we work. This is an excellent opportunity to positively impact patient safety while working on complex, challenging, and career-defining projects. We offer a basic salary of £64,000 plus excellent benefits. This is a hybrid role, requiring you to be in our London office between 4 to 8 days per month, with the remainder of your work conducted remotely.
