We are looking for candidates with solid experience in Solidity, Hyperledger Besu, and Web3 tooling. A good understanding of carbon markets or environmental data systems is also essential.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing ERC-20/1155-compatible smart contracts with embedded metadata, such as project ID, vintage year, and verification body.
- Setting up a multi-node Besu network using IBFT 2.0 or QBFT consensus.
- Building minting and retirement APIs that are integrated with off-chain Measurement, Reporting & Verification (MRV) data.
- Delivering end-to-end functionality alongside comprehensive, audit-ready documentation.
Description
We are a forward-thinking organization in the clean technology sector, and we seek an experienced Blockchain Developer for a 3-month contract. This role focuses on building the foundational infrastructure of a carbon offset tokenization system on Hyperledger Besu. You will design and deliver a secure, permissioned blockchain network and develop smart contracts for the minting, verification, and retirement of tokenized carbon credits. You will lead the process from network configuration through to testnet deployment and audit readiness, collaborating with a small, agile team committed to sustainability and decentralized innovation. This contract offers the chance to work on a high-impact sustainability project with flexible remote working arrangements and potential for extension or a leadership role in future phases.
