Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a Data Business Analyst, showcasing multiple data projects delivered end-to-end.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data pipelines, and data product delivery.
- Experience working with multiple data sets from external resources.
- Excellent skills in requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with MS Azure, Salesforce, Jira, and PowerBI is highly beneficial.
- Experience in the tourism, hospitality, or related industries is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Gather and document requirements by collaborating with business stakeholders to capture and define detailed requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and user stories, ensuring clarity across teams through functional and non-functional documentation.
- Work closely with data delivery and analytics teams to align solutions with business objectives.
- Partner with data engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to define and deliver actionable data products.
- Develop and maintain data models that accurately reflect business requirements while supporting data analysts in exploratory scripts, logic investigations, and data validation.
- Reverse engineer existing ("as-is") and future-state ("to-be") data pipelines to enhance understanding and alignment.
- Act as a bridge between business and technical teams to ensure alignment on goals and deliverables while managing relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Facilitate workshops, presentations, and demonstrations to communicate findings and solutions while championing best practices in data governance, quality, and documentation.
Description
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our leading hospitality franchise, which encompasses over 600 hotels across the UK/Ireland and Europe. Our UK head office, comprised of 120 talented individuals, operates with a hybrid work pattern. We are currently seeking a Data Business Analyst to join our team on an interim basis. This role is a 6-month contract (outside IR35) that requires presence in our North Oxfordshire office for three days each week. In this multi-faceted role, your primary objective will be to assist our group in enhancing our data capability, especially as we transition from a legacy Microsoft environment to MS Azure. If you are an experienced BA with strong data expertise and the ability to work cross-functionally, we would love to hear from you.
