Requirements
Must:
I am looking for candidates who possess a proven background in data engineering and analysis, particularly within the public sector or government. You should have experience with complex data analysis and migration projects, as well as hands-on coding skills with PL/SQL and Java (Talend experience is advantageous). A solid understanding of data structures, quality, and governance is essential, along with experience in handling data across Oracle, AWS RDS, and MongoDB, as well as familiarity with XML and JSON.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing large, complex datasets to define scope, quality, and migration readiness. You will identify extraction rules and sequencing for staged data migration while developing migration logic using PL/SQL and Java. Additionally, you will handle data across various platforms, decompress and transform XML data into JSON for migration, and validate data integrity to ensure accurate reconciliation post-migration. Producing clear technical documentation and advising on data best practices will also be an integral part of your responsibilities.
Description
This is a 12-month contract position, with the possibility of renewal every six months. The role offers an excellent day rate inside IR35 and requires a hybrid work arrangement, with 1 to 2 days per week onsite in Telford. You will have the opportunity to join a major and highly complex data migration project, focusing on deep data analysis, migration planning, and code development to support extraction, transformation, and load activities. We are looking for someone who can operate independently at SFIA 5 level, demonstrating the ability to lead, advise, and influence within the team.
