Requirements
Must:
- Active SC clearance and NPPV3 is mandatory for this role.
- Significant experience with AWS technologies (e.g., EC2, RDS, ELB, EBS, EFS, S3, VPC, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS).
- Proficiency in provisioning infrastructure using Terraform and VMs with tools such as Vagrant.
- Experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime AWS environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, JAVA) and automation capabilities.
- Thorough knowledge of Jenkins and pipeline development using Groovy script.
- Experience with Docker containers and Amazon Linux 2023 AMI.
- Familiarity with system monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Alert Manager, Prometheus, Node exporter).
- Proficient in using Git, Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow for incident and change management.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an AWS-based cloud solution with an emphasis on best practice cloud security.
- Collaborate within a team to ensure successful delivery of large-scale, long-term IT projects for the public sector.
- Provision infrastructure and manage automation processes to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor system performance and apply best practices to enhance reliability and uptime.
Description
We are looking for a DevOps Platform Engineer with AWS experience for a permanent position based in Birmingham, where I require that you travel to our office 4 to 5 days a week. The position offers a salary range of £70,000 to £75,000. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading digital transformation business focused on delivering impactful IT projects for the public sector. An immediate start is ideal, preferably in June 2025. If you have hands-on DevOps delivery experience, particularly with digital or technology projects in government organizations, we would love to hear from you.
