Must:
We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in data modelling, database design, and SQL. You should have a strong proficiency with data modelling tools and frameworks, along with knowledge of ETL tools and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Familiarity with Python and Kafka is desirable. Additionally, you should have a proven background in designing and managing large-scale data warehousing solutions, a strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management principles, and an in-depth understanding of banking products, financial instruments, and capital markets operations. Familiarity with risk management frameworks and regulatory data requirements will be beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as strong stakeholder management skills and experience working across global teams. Finally, we expect you to have the ability to provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and foster a collaborative, data-driven culture.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise data architecture, which includes conceptual, logical, and physical data models for capital markets operations and analytics. You will develop scalable, high-performance data solutions to support our global business functions. Establishing and maintaining data governance frameworks, lineage documentation, and quality assurance processes will be critical, ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and security of financial and market data. You will evaluate and recommend appropriate data technologies, tools, and cloud platforms to support advanced analytics and data management. Furthermore, you will define strategies for integrating diverse data sources across systems and functions, ensuring consistency and interoperability. Collaboration is key, as you will partner with data domain leads, business analysts, and technical teams to align data architecture with business objectives and strategic initiatives. Ensuring all data practices adhere to relevant financial regulations, industry standards, and internal risk frameworks is vital. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a long-term data strategy and roadmap that supports the evolving needs of our organization and the capital markets landscape.
Description
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller / Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering enterprise data solutions within a leading financial services environment. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that data models and frameworks are robust, scalable, and aligned with both business and regulatory requirements. This is a contract position based in London, lasting until 31 December 2025, with a hybrid working arrangement of 2-3 days on site. The day rate for this role is £446 (Inside IR35).
