Requirements

Must:
We are looking for candidates who have experience in a customer-facing IT Service role. You should hold a recognized IT or IT Service certification, such as ITIL, SDI, or equivalent. We seek individuals with management experience leading IT Service Desk and IT Field Engineering teams covering a national user base. Excellent communication, influencing, and persuading skills are essential. Proven technical experience in IT operations and IT Service Management is required, along with broad-based technical knowledge to facilitate the triaging of incidents and requests. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary to systematically break down complex issues and tasks into manageable pieces. You should be skilled in root cause analysis and be able to collaborate with disparate technical specialists to find solutions for problems impacting IT Service Operations. Excellent documentation skills are important, as you will need to create user documentation and standard operating procedures. The ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language is crucial. Additionally, candidates should have experience in managing and developing teams, including recruitment and performance management.

Responsibilities

As our IT Service Desk Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our frontline IT service team, which includes both the IT Service Desk and Field Engineers. Your goal will be to deliver a first-class service experience across the organization by ensuring customer incidents and requests are resolved efficiently, new colleagues are onboarded smoothly, and IT assets are tracked and managed effectively. You will focus on creating a high-performing, customer-focused service that aligns with our values and fulfills our customer promise. This role will require you to onboard strategic projects and initiatives into our IT operations while continually reviewing processes to ensure they are fit for purpose and aligned with our strategic vision for service delivery. You will use customer insight and feedback to shape our future services. You will champion Continual Service Improvement (CSI), manage the incident and request processes, and ensure that our performance remains consistently high. In addition, you will coordinate our response to cyber incidents, oversee remediation and documentation, and deputize for the Service Delivery Manager in change management and escalation processes. You will ensure that emerging risks identified through the service team are communicated effectively to our Security and Governance team.
