Requirements
Must:
We are seeking candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Must be British citizens due to the nature of the work and associated nationality rules.
- A BSc, MSc, or PhD in Software Engineering or a similar numerical degree (2:1 or above).
- Demonstrable experience managing software development teams with a proven track record of delivering software projects on time, on budget, and to specification.
- Experience in developing, mentoring, and managing engineering staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with external customers and project partners.
- High-level knowledge of software engineering, best practices, and development processes and techniques.
- An enthusiastic team player with an interest in technology related to autonomous systems.
- Willingness to travel for client demonstrations, trials, and project meetings (domestic or international).
- Eligible to apply for UK Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will lead a software engineering team, delivering technology solutions and projects to our customers. My responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the successful technical delivery of software projects, reporting progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Line management of engineering staff, providing career support, and mentoring.
- Collaborating with the Engineering Management Team to oversee resource management, training, and recruitment.
- Reviewing and improving our engineering functions, defining and implementing new processes to maintain our state-of-the-art standards.
- Providing technical assistance to the Sales and Business Development teams to scope and cost new programs of work.
