Must:
We seek a data strategist with proven experience in data integration, strategy, or business intelligence consulting. You should possess strong skills in Power BI and SQL for prototyping reporting improvements, along with experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Business Central, NAV, and SAP. A solid understanding of how financial data is structured is essential, and knowledge of data warehousing principles, especially with Microsoft Fabric, would be a significant advantage. Strong business engagement skills are necessary, enabling you to communicate effectively with finance, IT, and operations teams to understand their reporting needs.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to:
1. Data Capability & System Assessment:
- Map out how financial and customer data is stored and used across our nine manufacturing sites.
- Engage with finance, IT, and operational teams to identify key reporting pain points.
- Identify data inconsistencies, manual processes, and reporting inefficiencies.
2. Proof of Concept (POC) & Technical Validation:
- Use Power BI to demonstrate how consolidated reporting could work.
- Apply SQL to extract and standardise key data sets from different ERP systems.
- Explore Power Automate to reduce manual data handling.
3. Data Integration & Future Strategy:
- Define the data that needs to be centralized for improved financial and operational visibility.
- Recommend an approach for transitioning to a centralized Microsoft Fabric data warehouse.
- Develop a roadmap for data governance and integration best practices.
Description
I am looking for someone who can assess our existing systems and recommend a viable path forward. This includes consolidating data across multiple ERPs to create a single source of truth for our organization. The project is expected to last three months and will focus on understanding our current data landscape and developing strategic recommendations for data integration and governance.
