Requirements
Must:
- I am looking for highly skilled Mid or Senior Software Engineers with demonstrated expertise in backend development.
- You should be proficient in Python as your primary programming language, or open to adapting your skills.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL is essential.
- Proficiency in version control tools like Git is required.
- A solid understanding of development best practices, including pair programming and Test-Driven Development (TDD), is expected.
- I value your eagerness to engage with emerging technologies and your ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving, software design, and debugging abilities are crucial.
- I appreciate candidates who show enthusiasm for continuous code improvement and learning from peers.
Responsibilities
- You will play a pivotal role in the backend engineering team, helping to build full-stack cloud applications.
- I expect you to utilize Python and AWS Cloud services on the backend.
- You will adopt a serverless-first approach to application design, collaborating within an agile team alongside other backend engineers and product designers.
- Strategizing, developing, testing, and deploying new features and experiments will be key aspects of your role.
- Engaging in collaborative coding practices such as pair programming and code reviews with your team will be important.
- I want you to contribute to resolving the complexities inherent in large-scale systems and extensive datasets.
- Close collaboration with our Product, Data, Front-end, Platform, and Security teams will be essential.
Description
- This is a dynamic opportunity with an energy provider dedicated to sustainable solutions in the UK. The initial contract is for five months but has the potential for extension. The role is hybrid, requiring you to be in our London office one day a week, working full-time at 40 hours per week. - Please note that if your application is successful and you are offered the role, a number of pre-employment checks will need to be carried out before your appointment can be confirmed.
