We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications: - A degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering. - Proven experience in Java development focused on low latency, multithreading, and garbage collection-aware techniques. - Demonstrated expertise in performance monitoring and metric design in real-time, mission-critical systems. - Proficiency with UNIX/Linux systems and message bus technologies. - Experience with network analysis tools, such as Wireshark, and messaging platforms like Solace. - Solid knowledge in eFX pricing systems and algorithmic trading frameworks. Desirable Qualifications: - A postgraduate qualification in computing, mathematics, or statistics. - Familiarity with FX ECNs, pricing algorithms, and FIX engines/APIs. - An understanding of FX Options and FIX packages.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be engaged in the following activities: - Designing and developing low latency pricing and trading systems using Java. - Collaborating with Front Office and IT teams to prototype and deliver analytics and algorithmic trading solutions. - Analyzing and optimizing performance in high-frequency trading environments. - Contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle including design, specification, testing, deployment, and support. - Providing 3rd line technical support and working closely with production support teams. - Participating in sprint planning, estimation, and regular project updates. - Supporting software releases, which may include occasional out-of-hours deployments. - Ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to become a Subject Matter Expert within our eFX Algo IT team, focusing on low latency trading systems. This hands-on development role aims to build and optimize pricing, hedging, and market connectivity systems for our eFX trading desk. Experience in eFX pricing is essential, including price construction and algorithmic trading. You will work closely with Java and C# developers, business analysts, project managers, and QA teams to deliver high-performance solutions. A strong understanding of FX trading, low latency architecture, and compliance within a trading environment is required. This is a hybrid position, requiring three days per week in-office at our location near Liverpool Street Station in London. Core attributes and skills we value include strong communication and analytical abilities, deep expertise in Java, and a solid understanding of the FIX protocol and market connectivity. You should exhibit a production stability mindset and possess the ability to collaborate effectively across infrastructure and support teams.
