Requirements
Must:
- 3-4+ years experience in backend or full-stack web development
- Strong experience with the Symfony framework
- Knowledge of routing, services, security, dependency injection, and Doctrine
- Experience with React and/or Next.js (or willingness to upskill)
- Good understanding of HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
- Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases
- Familiarity with Docker and Git workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Passion for writing clean, maintainable code
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance APIs using Symfony (v5/6/7) and API Platform
- Write scalable and secure backend logic following industry best practices
- Work with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Build responsive UI features using React and Next.js
- Use modern JavaScript (ES6+), hooks, state management, and functional components
- Write unit, integration, and functional tests using PHPUnit and Jest
- Follow PSR-12, SOLID principles, and clean code practices
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and architecture sessions
- Collaborate closely with other developers, product teams, and stakeholders
- Use Git for version control and CI/CD pipelines for deployment
- Work with Docker for containerised development
