Requirements
Must:
- Strong experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise or SaaS environments
- Excellent knowledge of relational databases and SQL
- Hands-on experience with MSSQL, Oracle, Sybase and/or MongoDB
- Proven experience in database performance tuning and query optimization
- Experience using DB monitoring and performance tools (e.g. Ignite or equivalent)
- Experience across Linux/Unix and Windows environments (Solaris exposure desirable)
- Ability to write shell scripts for Unix/Linux
- A track record of owning production issues in high-availability systems
- Experience working to SLAs in 24/7 environments
- Must be eligible to obtain SC clearance
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support customer databases in a 24/7 production environment
- Act as Tier 3-4 escalation for complex incidents and availability issues
- Analyse existing infrastructure and proactively improve performance and resilience
- Install, configure, and deploy systems into customer environments
- Support data migrations and system integrations
- Identify and implement automation, scripting, and process improvements
- Perform root cause analysis, owning issues through to resolution
- Collaborate closely with development and support teams
- Keep up to date with database technologies, tools, and best practices

We are working with a client looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Leicester, offering a hybrid work model. In this senior, hands-on position, youll support customer databases on a 24/7 basis, ensuring database performance, availability, and stability.
