Requirements

Must:
We’re looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience in a role focused on Azure. It’s important that you have a proven track record of successfully managing cloud migration and re-engineering projects. A consultancy background with practical delivery experience is a big advantage. You should have deep expertise in Azure IaaS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly using Bicep. Additionally, a strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and workload optimization is essential. Familiarity with IaaS and SaaS platforms as well as cloud-native services is needed, and experience in AI and analytics projects would be a plus.

Responsibilities

In this hands-on technical leadership role, I will lead our cloud transformation journey, focusing on re-engineering infrastructure and delivering scalable, secure cloud solutions. You will be responsible for migrating workloads to Azure and re-engineering legacy systems, reviewing and evolving existing Azure Landing Zones and blueprint designs. I expect you to collaborate with stakeholders to redesign workloads, ensuring they perform well in a cloud-native environment. Additionally, you will manage resource groups in alignment with architectural design. You will drive the adoption of Bicep for Infrastructure as Code across our Azure environments, ensuring that our deployments are scalable, secure, and maintainable. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for Azure IaaS, M365, Power Platform, and Dynamics, you will also support our AI and analytics initiatives, including the setup of a Data Lake and development of AI bots. Furthermore, you will lead the redesign of our network architecture and oversee the migration of workloads to the cloud as we decommission our on-premises data centers. Mentoring our 9-person infrastructure team and sharing best practices will also be key parts of your role.

Description

We offer a competitive benefits package that includes 25 days of annual leave, an additional wellbeing day, and extra holiday allowance based on your tenure. You can also access online Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and GP appointments, discounted gym memberships, onsite mortgage advice sessions, enhanced paid family, neonatal, and emergency leave, and a hardship fund to assist with unexpected financial challenges. Our interview process consists of two steps: First, you’ll have an interview with our Lead Architect, followed by a panel interview with a Senior Manager and a team member that includes introductions, a CV walkthrough, a discussion of hands-on experience, and a technical deep dive into re-engineering and Azure IaaS. We are offering a permanent position with hybrid working, requiring you to be in our Newcastle City Centre office 2 days a week. If you’re excited about this opportunity, I encourage you to apply now!
