Requirements
Must:
- Highly experienced Developer with deep expertise in Python
- Proficient in automated testing and building pipelines with containers, along with automated quality checks
- Familiar with modern development practices and environments
- Experience in API development with the Falcon framework
- Background in working within a pragmatic startup and managing ambiguity
- Strong understanding of authentication and authorization (we currently use NextAuth/JWT)
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Understanding of PostgreSQL and data modeling
- Exposure to BigQuery is a plus
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform

Responsibilities
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will support the design and development of scalable Python applications that power our AI-driven marketing platform. This includes architecting robust systems, guiding our technical roadmap, and working cross-functionally to transform strategy into powerful, real-world solutions. You'll champion engineering excellence by embedding best practices and driving innovation through clean code, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll also take ownership of key technical decisions, mentor a talented team of developers, and help cultivate a culture of engineering excellence.

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our platform and take part in leading the engineering charge as we scale. We work on a hybrid model, with the HQ based in Leeds for 1–2 days per week. We offer a competitive salary range of £70,000 - £90,000 depending on experience, plus benefits including a groundbreaking 4-day week model, annual leave, health insurance, retail and leisure perks, and an electric car scheme.
