Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a skilled Optimization Functional Test SME who brings expertise in optimization and testing. You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Essential experience includes:
- Proven experience solving optimization problems using a range of techniques.
- Ability to develop custom data models and algorithms for large datasets.
- Strong understanding of mathematical programming solvers (LP, QP, MIP, MILP, MIQP, MIQCP).
- Knowledge of data collection, preprocessing, and analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical computer languages (such as Python) to manipulate data and derive insights.
- Experience with Python and Gurobi Optimizer.
- Demonstrated background in optimization problem-solving.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the electricity system operator balancing program. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with project and customer teams on the Dispatch Algorithm within Balancing Transformation programs.
- Supporting Quality Assurance and development of modern optimization algorithms.
- Coordinating with functional teams and business users to review and test scenarios.
- Performing exploratory testing, identifying defects, and documenting observations.
- Contributing to the development of requirement tools and automation for algorithm testing.
Description
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic IT team and work with a leading global organization on a prestigious project based in Wokingham. The position is hybrid, requiring you to be onsite three days a week, and it is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension offered at a day rate of £425 (Inside IR35).
