Requirements
Must:
I require proven experience in managing engineering and quality governance within complex environments. Strong stakeholder leadership and communication abilities across various disciplines are essential. You should possess an understanding of the Lifecycle Management (LCM), ISO 9001/45001, IEC 61508, and Defence Standards. Familiarity with tools such as SharePoint, Teamcenter, Jira, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques is also important. An analytical mindset focused on process improvement is a must.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will lead and manage cross-functional teams to deliver engineering governance and assurance. It is my responsibility to maintain and improve operational frameworks, codes of practice, and audit schedules. I will ensure compliance with both internal and external engineering and quality standards. Additionally, I will support inspections, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives, while promoting process standardization, cultural change, and risk-based governance.
Description
This position is for a Systems Engineer specializing in Process and Governance, located at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness. The role is hybrid, requiring 3–4 days onsite, with a duration of 12 months. The hourly rate is £56.44, operating under an umbrella model and is classified as inside IR35. The working hours for this position are 37 per week.
