Requirements
Must:
- I have at least 3 years of experience in platform/infrastructure support.
- I have proven experience managing Active Directory, SCCM, and SolarWinds.
- I possess hands-on experience with PowerShell and Python for automation scripting.
- I have a fundamental understanding of networking concepts and network storage systems.
- I have exposure to VDI platforms such as VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V.
- I am familiar with ITSM tools.
- While not essential, exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is desirable.
- ITIL or MCSE certification is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- I will monitor platform infrastructure for performance and availability, responding to alerts and incidents as they occur.
- I will provide 2nd/3rd line support for enterprise systems, including Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds, and VDI environments.
- I am responsible for troubleshooting and resolving platform issues and escalating them to other technical teams when necessary.
- I will develop and update support documentation, including troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.
- I will provide hands-on support with automation scripts, workflows, and monitoring tools.
Description
We are looking for a Platform Support Engineer who has experience in providing 2nd/3rd line support for enterprise platforms. This role is crucial for monitoring and supporting our clients' critical platform infrastructure, such as Active Directory, SCCM, SolarWinds, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and User Access Devices (UADs). The Platform Support Engineer ensures reliability and user satisfaction while providing issue resolution to improve platform operations. This position is based in Shrivenham with a hybrid work model requiring in-office presence 3 days a week. The salary ranges from £25,000 to £40,000.
