We are looking for someone with strong SQL skills and experience handling large datasets. Experience in building dashboards that measure data quality or control-related metrics is essential. The ideal candidate should be familiar with data quality issues, including identifying root causes and suggesting fixes.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will support control development through analysis, helping to define metrics and assess data quality rather than coding or implementing controls. I will perform deep-dive data analysis using SQL on large, complex datasets, identifying and tracing data quality issues back to their source, including mapping data lineage where required. Additionally, I will produce dashboards in Tableau (or Power BI or similar) to surface key control metrics and data quality indicators. I will work closely with market risk, data, and transformation teams to ensure that controls are meaningful and accurately reflected in reporting.
Description
This role is for a Data Analyst in Market Risk Controls, offered at a rate of £600.00 per day (Inside IR35, via Umbrella) for a length of 6 months, until 31/12/2025. The position is based in Belfast with a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 2 to 3 days per week in the office. I am supporting a leading investment bank as they build out the control framework for their strategic data platform within Market Risk, which is part of a wider transformation program focused on improving the quality, traceability, and control of risk data. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of data and who can help define and measure control metrics without directly building the controls themselves.
