Requirements
Must:
We prefer candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. An ITIL foundation qualification would be a bonus. Previous experience in a service desk or technical support role is essential, with at least 2 years of experience being desirable. You should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure. An analytical and problem-solving mindset is crucial, along with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. You must be proficient in troubleshooting the Windows operating system and have familiarity with M365, Active Directory, and basic networking concepts. Knowledge of remote desktop tools and IT Service Management tools is also beneficial.
Responsibilities
As a 1st Line Service Desk Support Analyst, I will provide first-line technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in person. I will diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related issues, guiding users through step-by-step solutions clearly and concisely. I will log and track incidents in our service desk ticketing system, prioritizing and escalating them based on urgency and impact to ensure timely resolution and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Additionally, I will manage requests and starter/leaver processes, ensuring new starter requests are fulfilled according to our documented laptop build process using Intune and Autopilot. Delivering excellent customer service is key, so I will actively listen to users, empathize with their concerns, keep them informed of incident progress, and provide user training and support for various applications and technologies. I will also create and maintain accurate documentation of common issues and resolutions, contribute to our knowledge base, collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues, and monitor recurring issues to help identify root causes and develop proactive solutions.
Description
This role reports to the IT Service Desk Manager. Although this is a hybrid position, it is initially expected to require 5 days a week on-site in our Bolton office, transitioning to a hybrid model of 3 to 4 days in the office once the team is established. The ideal candidate for this position will proactively log and resolve issues and complete requests, ensuring a seamless experience for our end-users. With a focus on delivering exceptional customer service, you will uphold our company Service Level Agreements and contribute to the success of our IT Service Desk Team. You will need to be approachable with a can-do attitude, ready to answer questions and support team members by sharing your knowledge and expertise.
