Must:
We are looking for a candidate with a Degree Qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You should have proven experience as a Data Engineer, with strong proficiency in Python and experience using data manipulation frameworks such as Apache Spark. In-depth knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, data modelling, and SQL is essential. Experience with cloud platforms including Azure Synapse and Fabric is required, along with proficiency in designing and implementing data pipelines. A solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and data integration techniques is also necessary. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data-related issues and propose effective solutions are key. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in an iterative development environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure the efficient collection, storage, and processing of large volumes of structured and unstructured data. You will collaborate with BI developers, data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and implement robust data solutions. Optimizing data storage and retrieval mechanisms for performance and scalability will be part of your duties, which include implementing data partitioning, indexing, and compression strategies. You will also be responsible for implementing data quality and data governance frameworks to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry standards. Other responsibilities include performing data modelling and schema design to support data analysis, reporting, and visualization needs, as well as monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines, identifying, and resolving performance bottlenecks to ensure data integrity and availability.
