Requirements
Must:
- I have demonstrable experience working as a Network Engineer with Cisco skills.
- I possess experience in networking, internet, and cloud services.
- I have advanced Firewall and Load Balancer experience.
- I have in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN, voice, and wireless protocols and network equipment.
- I am proficient in using scripting, automation, orchestration, and Software-defined networking toolsets.
- I have a proven track record of delivering full lifecycle projects: design, deployment, support, and maintenance.
- I possess clear and outstanding communication skills and have experience managing change.
- I am able to present ideas confidently to colleagues at all levels.
- I am able to provide out-of-hours cover on a support rota when needed.
- Experience with Checkpoint, DNA, ACI, or holding a CCNP certification is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- I will provide detailed 2nd/3rd level support for a wide range of network products.
- I will manage, design, and report on Network, Network Security, and associated technologies (mainly LAN, WAN, Firewall, and Load Balancer systems).
- I will be responsible for systems monitoring, SLA's, operational procedures, and training.
- I will engage in fault management and installations.
- I will work on automation and scripting to improve efficiency.
- I will participate in IT projects, implement approved designs, and transition to Business as Usual (BAU) operations.
- I will proactively monitor and report on the capacity and performance of Howdens' network and hardware infrastructure.
- I will engage in projects and infrastructure implementations that are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.
