We are looking for candidates with a minimum of a degree in an Electrical Engineering related discipline or relevant experience in a similar role for at least 5 years. Current hands-on experience in writing test sequences/scripts for execution of spacecraft tests from the Central Checkout System (CCS) is essential, with knowledge of Elisa and JAVA being advantageous. You should possess a working knowledge of TMTC Databases and have technical knowledge of spacecraft systems and subsystems, such as Data Handling, Packet Utilisation Standard, Data Bus Communications (1553 and Spacewire), Attitude & Orbital Control, and Thermal Control systems. Familiarity with programming and scripting languages, particularly Linux/Unix bash scripts, is a plus, as is knowledge of C, Java, Python, TCL, or VBA. Competence in using various test equipment for electrical measurements (e.g., DMM, oscilloscope, data acquisition unit) is also beneficial. An understanding of spacecraft electrical systems and harnesses, as well as familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, is desired. Awareness of 'cleanroom' disciplines and knowledge of system testing and verification are important. Candidates must be willing to support shifts and flexible working as needed.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will prepare test procedures, write and debug test sequences for satellite system testing during ambient and environmental test campaigns. You will be responsible for preparing, debugging, and executing complex test sequences on flight spacecraft and test benches. Your duties will include providing first-line support to the test operations team and assisting in non-conformance reviews. You will interpret electrical and functional test requirements from specifications, develop test solutions, and provide technical inputs to project test reviews. Additionally, you'll conduct spacecraft system investigations in line with actions from Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs) and support functional and performance tests during environmental testing. Finally, you'll close out tests with Post Test Reviews and Test Reports.
Description
The successful candidate will need to be able to develop and debug Automatic Test Procedures (ATP) using a bespoke high-level software language based on the Elisa language and JAVA. You will have the chance to work closely with spacecraft systems during environmental and launch test campaigns and will be involved in electrical integration of equipment on a test bench or spacecraft. You must also hold SC level security clearance and be a UK National prior to commencing the contract. We seek a motivated individual who can work effectively within a team and demonstrate their ability to adhere to company and departmental procedures while maintaining high standards throughout their work.
