Requirements
Must:
- Security Clearance: SC Required
- Proven experience in data engineering and architecture
- Hands-on expertise in Python, PySpark, and SQL
- Familiarity with technologies such as Spark and Airflow
- Proficient in AWS services including API Gateway, Lambda, Redshift, Glue, CloudWatch, etc.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities
- Experience in a client-facing, consulting environment is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of enterprise data platforms, ensuring technical excellence and alignment with business goals
- Oversee teams across Data Engineering, Architecture, Analytics, and Science
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across all data delivery streams
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to deliver impactful, data-driven outcomes
- Shape the roadmap for scalable, secure, and high-performing data ecosystems
- Design and build modern, cloud-native data pipelines using AWS services
Description
We are seeking a Head of Data Engineering & Architecture to lead delivery across multiple high-impact programmes for a major public sector organisation. In this role, I expect you to define and execute the data engineering strategy while driving innovation in data platforms, architecture, and analytics. This position is remote with occasional travel required, offering an initial contract term of 3 months, with a likelihood of extension. The role provides an excellent opportunity to shape enterprise-wide data strategy and delivery within a large public sector environment. The rate for this position is £800-£900 per day, OUTSIDE IR35.
