Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience as a VMware Horizon Specialist.
- Familiarity with VMware ESXi and vCenter components.
- Experience with upgrading VMware environments, specifically to Omnissa Horizon.
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11 and Microsoft Office suites.
- Understanding of Desktop Environment Management (DEM) and CIS Level 2 hardening.
- Security clearance is required.
- Willingness to work on-site in Ipswich.
Responsibilities
- Review our current VMware Horizon Infrastructure, focusing on ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
- Plan, test, and execute the upgrade to the latest Omnissa Horizon, ensuring compatibility and minimal downtime.
- Upgrade VMware ESXi and vCenter components as needed.
- Update VDI clients to Windows 11 and install the latest Microsoft Office version.
- Ensure DEM is configured and functioning correctly.
- Implement CIS Level 2 hardening for VMware Horizon, Windows 11 VDIs, and Microsoft Office in a secure, offline setting.
- Document all procedures, configurations, and changes made during the upgrade process.
Description
We are undertaking a comprehensive project that includes assessment, planning, testing, optimisation, and security hardening phases. This project will require evaluating the existing VMware Horizon environment, developing a detailed upgrade plan, performing testing in reference environments, upgrading necessary components, and verifying application performance after updates. We will also need to apply CIS Level 2 benchmarks and compile thorough documentation for the ongoing maintenance of the upgraded environment.
