Requirements
Must:
As a candidate for the VMware Engineer position, you should have the following skills and qualifications:
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and vRealize Suite (vRA/vRO).
- Experience with automation tools such as PowerCLI, PowerShell, Terraform, and Ansible.
- Understanding of automation and orchestration workflows.
- Familiarity with scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including experience with branching strategies and maintaining code.
- Competence in Windows/Linux OS administration and automation using Ansible, Ksh, and PowerShell.
- Experience using a Git-based code repository.
- Ability to automate pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- An active SC security clearance is required.
Responsibilities
In the role of a VMware Engineer, I will expect you to:
- Automate VM provisioning using tools like vRealize Automation (vRA), PowerCLI, and Terraform.
- Operate within and have a solid understanding of VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts for repeatable deployments.
- Automate the building, configuration, and hardening of base operating systems.
- Integrate VM deployment workflows with CI/CD pipelines and ITSM systems.
- Monitor performance and ensure high availability, security, and compliance of deployed solutions.
Description
This is a 12-month contract position based in London, with remote working options available. The role falls inside IR35, and we are only considering candidates who will work through an umbrella company. We will review all profiles against the required skills and experience.
