Must:
We are looking for a skilled Storage Engineer with proven experience in enterprise storage systems such as NetApp, Dell EMC, IBM, or cloud storage solutions. You should possess a strong knowledge of storage protocols like iSCSI, NFS, and Fibre Channel. Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and containerized environments is essential. An understanding of backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies is required, alongside excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills. Certifications in storage technologies or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) are preferred.
Responsibilities
As a Storage Engineer, you will support the implementation of OpenShift as part of a major infrastructure migration project. Your main tasks will include designing storage architecture to support OpenShift clusters and workloads, as well as installing and configuring storage systems (SAN, NAS, or cloud-based). You will integrate storage with the underlying infrastructure, ensuring high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery capabilities. Additionally, you will optimize storage performance for containerized workloads and implement monitoring and alerting for storage health and capacity.
You will work closely with Infrastructure Engineers, OpenShift Administrators, and Automation Engineers, providing support to DevOps and application teams with storage provisioning and troubleshooting. Furthermore, you will maintain detailed documentation of storage configurations and processes while ensuring adherence to our IT governance and change management policies.
Description
This contract position will run until 31/12/2026 and is based in Sheffield, offering a hybrid work model with 3 days onsite each week. The rate for this position is up to £410.32 per day via Umbrella, inside IR35.
