Must:
We require a candidate with strong technical expertise and experience in security engineering, specifically with SIEM and EDR platforms. Knowledge of network security and understanding cybersecurity frameworks is essential. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, or vendor-specific SIEM certifications (e.g., AZ-500, SC-100) are necessary. Familiarity with programming and scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, KQL (Kusto Query Language), or any other scripting languages is also important. We are looking for an individual with analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing large datasets to identify threats, mitigations, and misconfigurations. Excellent communication skills are needed to document findings and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
As a SIEM Engineer, I will be responsible for the deployment and management of SIEM tools such as Sentinel and Elastic, including setup, configuration, and maintenance. I will handle the deployment, configuration, and management of EDR tools like Tanium, Trellix, FireEye, Defender, and Elastic EDR. I will monitor security logs to detect anomalies and investigate potential threats, ensuring the configuration of Syslog servers and managing syslog feeds. Additionally, I will create log ingestion for Sentinel, deploying out-of-the-box (OOTB) integrations and developing custom integrations for various log source types. Collaboration with IT and security teams will be a key part of my role, as I work to improve our overall cybersecurity posture.
Description
This contract position is for six months and operates in a hybrid model, requiring 60% on-site presence in Wokingham. An active SC clearance is essential for this role. The successful candidate will play an integral part in enhancing our cybersecurity efforts.
