Must:
We are looking for a candidate with strong demonstrable cloud skills, specifically proficiency in AWS and experience with a broad range of cloud services. You should possess strong scripting skills with automation tools like Ansible and have knowledge of CI/CD pipelines. Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is essential, with advanced use of IaC tools and best practices, as well as the ability to design and implement complex infrastructure. Familiarity with cloud security best practices, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), is required. You should also have troubleshooting and debugging skills, and experience working in Agile environments. Additionally, the ability to write technical documentation and manage configuration control using Git is necessary. Experience with Terraform is expected.
Responsibilities
As a Cloud Engineer, your main responsibilities will include designing, developing, and deploying AWS cloud infrastructure and services to support project systems. You will work under time and budget constraints to deliver outputs such as technical presentations, documentation, test plans, user guides, design or process documents, infrastructure or software builds, and CI/CD pipelines. It's important for you to lead or contribute to documentation and testing activities, promote best practices, mentor colleagues, and identify continuous improvement opportunities. You will fully engage in Agile development and may receive training in SAFe practices if needed. Supporting security, safety, and compliance activities by incorporating derived requirements into design evolution is crucial, as well as assisting with estimation and change control processes.
Description
This role is focused on the delivery of a System of Systems Factory on a cloud platform to create, manage, and distribute aeronautical information. The current focus is on development and preparation for a future operational phase as a managed service. You will work within the Storage Team, collaborating with subcontractors to integrate their products into the P-AIC System of Systems and the MOD Cloud Environment. Occasional visits to our Malvern location may be required. The position is remote until March 31, 2026, with a likely extension. We offer competitive market rates for the right candidate.
