We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with in-depth expertise in Juniper technologies. The ideal candidate will have proven hands-on experience with Juniper routing, switching, and firewall technologies, such as JunOS, SRX, MX, and EX series. A strong understanding of BGP, OSPF, VPNs, and network segmentation is essential. Familiarity with NHS networking standards and requirements is preferred. Additionally, experience in high-availability environments and large-scale enterprise networks is required, along with strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and documentation skills. Ideally, you will also possess Juniper certifications (e.g., JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP) and have experience with network monitoring tools and automation scripts, as well as knowledge of Cisco or other enterprise networking solutions.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will expect you to design, configure, and support Juniper-based network infrastructure across multiple sites. You will implement network upgrades, migrations, and security enhancements in line with NHS standards. Troubleshooting and resolving network performance, connectivity, and security issues will be a significant part of your responsibilities. You'll also be collaborating with IT security, systems, and application teams to support clinical operations, ensuring compliance with NHS Digital and internal security protocols. Documentation, knowledge transfer, and providing technical guidance to internal staff will also be part of your duties.
Description
This is a contract position based in Crawley, offering hybrid working options. The contract length is for 6 months, with the possibility of extension. You will be engaged on an Inside IR35 basis with a rate of £400 per day.
