Must:
We are looking for candidates with strong experience in Microsoft Defender platforms and incident investigation skills across endpoint, identity, and cloud. An understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Zero Trust is essential, along with proficiency in ASR rules, AV baselines, and KQL analytics. Desirable skills include experience with Microsoft Sentinel, a solid understanding of MITRE ATT&CK, exposure to red team activities, and familiarity with automation using PowerShell. Preferred qualifications include Microsoft security certifications such as SC-200, SC-300, or SC-400, as well as broader cloud or cyber qualifications.
Responsibilities
As an IT Engineer, you will manage and optimize Microsoft Defender across various platforms, including Endpoint, Identity, Cloud Apps, Office 365, and Cloud Security Posture Management. You will monitor alerts and conduct threat investigations, support incident response efforts with containment and remediation, and conduct proactive threat hunting. You will be responsible for configuring policy baselines and protection profiles, maintaining governance and compliance alignment, leading version management and capability tuning, and keeping documentation for configurations and processes. Additionally, you will collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Cyber Security teams, provide security insights for projects, produce reporting for stakeholders, and identify automation and workflow enhancements.
Description
This role is for a period of three months and is based in London, with an onsite requirement. It falls within the Inside IR35 framework and candidates must be engaged through an Umbrella company. We are seeking an accomplished IT Engineer with specialist expertise in the Microsoft Defender security ecosystem to strengthen our cyber defense across endpoints, identities, cloud services, and hybrid infrastructure.
