Requirements
Must:
We are looking for candidates with a degree or equivalent in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or Control Engineering. You should have proven experience in industrial utilities metering (electricity, gas, steam, water, wastewater), preferably within pharmaceutical or process manufacturing environments. A strong understanding of flow measurement principles and metering technologies is essential, along with deep knowledge of communication protocols, including Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet/IP, RS-485, and pulse/analog signals. Familiarity with PLCs, gateways, SCADA systems, and PME integration is crucial. You must be able to interpret technical drawings and produce structured documentation. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills are necessary, along with training in hazardous area equipment selection and installation fundamentals. Experience with global projects and knowledge of both local and international standards (e.g., ATEX, CSA) is preferred. Lastly, you should be skilled in handling large datasets, particularly for energy data verification.
Responsibilities
In this role, we will require you to lead the design and deployment of industrial utilities metering solutions across various sites. You will perform on-site assessments to evaluate infrastructure and feasibility for installing various meters while addressing mechanical, electrical, civil considerations, and potential challenges. Analyzing engineering documentation, including process flow diagrams and electrical single-line diagrams, will be part of your responsibilities as you identify optimal meter technologies and installation points. We will look to you for recommendations on metering solutions that adhere to our standards. Additionally, you will design and implement meter connectivity architecture and collaborate with site engineering and OT/IT teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity and OT boundary controls. You will document as-is and to-be metering configurations and maintain traceable records of design decisions and lessons learned.
Description
This is a pivotal role that directly contributes to our sustainability objectives by enabling precise monitoring of energy and resources, which drives operational excellence. You will report to Project Managers in each Cluster (by Geo) and the lead architect in the central technical team. We value a strong specialist in metering technologies, instrumentation, and automation, which includes overseeing configuration, commissioning, and interface validation, as well as ensuring cybersecurity compliance. Experience in L&S, sustainability solutions, and particularly with Schneider PME and RA will be considered a plus. English proficiency is required, as you will provide support to local teams through your expertise. This position is remote, but you will need to travel at set milestones.
