Requirements
Must:
- Strong understanding of Tenable Nessus architecture and its various components.
- Experience with installing, configuring, and administering Tenable Nessus in an on-premises environment.
- Knowledge of network security and vulnerability management principles.
- Ability to understand, define, and implement scan policies, schedules, and procedures in line with client security requirements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and troubleshooting skills.
- Active SC clearance required.
Responsibilities
As the Tenable Nessus Subject Matter Expert (SME), I will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Tenable Nessus vulnerability scanners within our on-premises environment. I will ensure proper deployment and integration of Nessus sensors across the environment to effectively identify and assess security vulnerabilities. My key activities will include deploying scanners, collaborating with client security teams, configuring scan policies, managing asset discovery, enabling reports, and implementing remediation activities.
Description
Desirable skills for this role include a Tenable Nessus certification, experience with other security tools, familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards (such as CIS Benchmarks), and the ability to document tests and build activities in a consistent and coherent way.
