Requirements
Must:
- Active DV clearance (must be currently held and transferable)
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration across production or secure environments
- Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash, Python, or similar)
- Experience with secure configuration, system hardening, and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with configuration management or automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet)
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, or equivalent)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a restricted environment
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar) in a secure, multi-system environment
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency
- Perform patching, updates, and security hardening in accordance with strict governance and compliance requirements
- Support secure networks, storage solutions, and virtualised environments (VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V)
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls following least-privilege principles
- Produce and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Work closely with security teams to ensure systems remain compliant with internal and external standards
- Support incident response, root-cause analysis, and service restoration activities
- Participate in on-call or out-of-hours support as required within the secure environment
