Must:
We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with the following qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with frontend software development (e.g., React).
- Demonstrated experience in Python development, particularly using FastAPI.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (including computational, numerate, or life sciences) or equivalent experience.
- Essential cloud experience (e.g., Google Cloud and cloud run), including core web application infrastructure.
- Strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python, ensuring adherence to best practices for clean and scalable code.
- Proven ability to work directly with designers, particularly using Figma, to convert design prototypes into engaging and interactive applications.
- Experience using automated testing tools, including Playwright and Cypress, to create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test suites.
- A sound understanding of web development best practices, modern design principles, and continuous integration workflows.
- Knowledge of agile practices and the ability to perform in agile software development environments.
- Strong knowledge of modern software development tools and workflows (e.g., git/GitHub, DevOps tools for deployment) with a commitment to commit early and deploy often.
Responsibilities
In this role, I will be responsible for:
- Frontend implementation for a React application.
- Visualizing and interacting with scientific data and workflow progression.
- Integrating AI/ML components with frontend, backend, data, and compute infrastructure.
- Ensuring high quality software implementations according to best practices, which includes implementing automated test suites and maintaining documentation.
- Developing, measuring, and monitoring key metrics for all tools and services, consistently seeking to iterate on and improve them.
- Participating in code reviews to continuously enhance my personal standards, as well as those of the wider team and product.
- Liaising with other technical staff and data engineers both within my team and across allied teams to build an end-to-end pipeline that consumes other data products.
Description
This position is based in London with hybrid working options available. The duration of the contract is 6 months, with a pay rate on offer ranging from £750 to £880 per day (via Umbrella and inside IR35). Preferred qualifications for this role include: - Experience with Docker or containerized applications, especially in the architecture of multi-container applications. - Demonstrated experience with biological or scientific data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) or relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, particularly in the design of data visualizations. - Knowledge of agent-based approaches (e.g., LangGraph, PydanticAI, AutoGen).
