Requirements
Must:
- Hands-on FHIR integration experience
- AHDS expertise, not just awareness
- Domain-driven design expertise applied in real, complex environments
- Azure platform architecture experience (AKS, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, AHDS)
- Ability to design independently deployable services with clean boundaries
- Experience in regulated healthcare or clinical systems
- Strong stakeholder influence and ability to build consensus across diverse teams
- Working knowledge of D365 CE/FinOps for informed boundary decisions (highly valuable)
- Experience with multi-region or regulated architectures (highly valuable)
- Ability to communicate architectural trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences (highly valuable)
Responsibilities
- Define the target state architecture and conceptual design for the new healthcare programme
- Establish the domain architecture, including bounded contexts, service boundaries, API contracts, and event flows
- Shape the FHIR/AHDS integration strategy for clinical data accessibility via D365
- Lead decisions on D365 strategy (extend existing vs. new instance) and define boundaries between D365 and domain services
- Design integration patterns for external clinical systems, such as prescribing systems and NHS platforms
- Collaborate with Digital Health Platform engineering teams to ensure channel consistency across mobile, portal, and staff interfaces
- Translate business capability mapping into architectural decisions
- Set architectural principles ensuring clinical logic is in independently deployable, testable services
- Support build vs buy decisions, platform reuse, and third-party integrations
- Prepare the architecture for EU expansion, addressing data residency and localization needs
Description
We are a leading digital health company launching a major new healthcare programme and are seeking a Lead Architect / Enterprise Architect to define the architecture and design of a next-generation clinical platform. This role is critical as we navigate both greenfield and brownfield elements in a complex healthcare delivery environment. Our team is currently in a 12-week blueprint phase and needs an individual who can swiftly take ownership of the architectural direction, unify teams, and ensure the platforms compliance and modularity for future EU expansion. The position offers flexibility on location and requires immediate start.
