Requirements

Must:
- I have previous experience supporting the M365 suite on a large laptop estate. - I have previously worked with a largely remote laptop workforce. - I possess IT Desktop Support experience focusing on Windows clients and shrink wrap applications. - I have experience working to agreed Service Level Agreements and managing incident support queues to resolution. - I have IT 2nd line support experience of the Microsoft Office suite of products. - I have experience creating and maintaining laptop build images using SCCM. - I can provide hardware technical support for workstations, laptops, printers, video conferencing, and mobile phones. - I have a strong customer service focus. Desirable: - I have knowledge of antivirus products and configurations, including Trellix (formerly McAfee) suites. - I have previous experience working with video conferencing hardware and support using Microsoft Teams. - I have experience working in a highly regulated industry such as Finance. - I hold an ITIL Foundation Certification.

Responsibilities

- I am responsible for providing 2nd line IT support to my business colleagues regarding laptops, printers, and meeting room AV equipment. - I provision and support iPhones and iPads for my business colleagues, resolving any associated incidents and service requests. - I handle the provisioning of laptops with VPN, Windows 10, configure user profiles, and provide support during the initial handover. - I cover the IT Tech Bar to assist my colleagues with both pre-booked appointments and "walk-ups." - I produce and act upon monthly reports showing the Microsoft patching status, backups, and antivirus status of laptops, desktops, and meeting room devices, ensuring there are no gaps in security patches and backups, remediating where required. - I ensure the IT Asset register is kept updated with all changes to hardware devices and correlate this with a monthly export from Active Directory. - I make sure incidents and requests from senior management are correctly logged and resolved as a priority, escalating outstanding issues as needed. - I maintain the IT Desktop Local Working Instructions (LWI) documents and create new LWIs where necessary. - I manage the IT Desktop Incident and Request queues in ITSM (via FS.GET or Service Desk), focusing on the root causes of incidents and long-term solutions. - I keep the laptop build image updated with the latest patches and software components.

Description


This Senior Desktop Analyst role is for an initial 3-month period, based on-site in Milton Keynes five times a week. The position offers £274 per day, inside IR35, and will be for umbrella contractors only. I will ensure all employees, including field-based staff, receive support for all VPN desktops, laptops, iPhones, iPads, and all associated client-based applications. Additionally, I will be responsible for audio and visual equipment in meeting rooms, ensuring that these are regularly checked and maintained. I will be reporting to the Technical Lead - Desktop Services.
