Requirements
Must:
- Deep IAM domain knowledge
- Solid experience of at least 3 years in a senior automation role, skilled in creating frameworks with strong coding experience (e.g., Java, Playwright, Python, Typescript, Cypher, Scala)
- Experience with API tooling (such as Insomnia, Apidog or Postman)
- Graph and event-driven validation expertise
- Automation-first test experience
- Layered test architecture understanding
- Risk-based test prioritisation
- Knowledge in RBAC / ABAC / ReBAC / PBAC
- OPA / Rego policy testing experience
- Familiarity with policy explainability validation
- REST API automation, API Gateway testing, and Batch ETL testing skills
- Expertise in consumer-driven contract testing and replay/reprocessing testing
- Graph data validation skills (Neo4j)
- Experience in containerised test execution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Experience with a range of automation tools and test tool selection recommendations
- Inputting into an overall test strategy that defines approach, environment, scope, risks, and resources
- Knowledge of cloud testing approaches and methodology, especially GCP, but also AWS, Azure, Entra, and Ali Cloud
- Some familiarity with JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, and NeoLoad for load, stress, and volume testing
- Experience testing graph database management systems (GDBMS) and GDBMS performance analysis
- Understanding of testing functions and decision points As Code
- Extensive experience using JIRA and Xephyr tooling
- Good experience executing defined test plans, including coordination, tracking, and reporting
- Positive team player within the overall test team
- Exposure to SailPoint IdentityIQ, identity warehousing, and data ingestion protocols/formats (SCIM, REST API, LDAP, OIDC, CSV)
- Experience with DevOps & CI/CD integration, particularly GitOps Repos
- Ability to integrate automation tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines and implement shift-left testing practices
- Knowledge of Pub Sub and MQ.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Lead Automation Architect to create an overall testing strategy focused on an Automation First approach
- Plan, develop, execute, maintain, and improve Automated Test Framework and Automated Test Scripts for Web and Graph Database applications
- Create and manage Jenkins pipelines for automated tests, generating reports and notifying the team about test results to enhance the CI/CD process
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, test data, test scenarios, and other documentation based on requirements and technical specifications
- Generate test data as needed
- Accurately report and track testing related defects and issues by writing or automating effective bug reports
- Attend triage meetings and verify bug fixes
- Identify process and application issues and provide suggestions for improvement
- Learn and adapt to new technologies as needed
- Communicate progress regularly to senior stakeholders and programme leads, tailoring the information to the recipient
- Generate regulatory evidence as necessary
- Conduct FR/NFR traceability and collate test entry and exit criteria
- Review test cases for coverage and traceability to requirements/design
- Liaise with business areas and technical leads regarding SIT/OAT/UAT scenario definitions as required
- Analyze design and other documents for testability
- Test functions and decision points As Code
- Undertake manual test case creation and execution as required, along with exploratory testing.

We are redefining Identity and Access Management (IAM) on a global scale with a transformational programme aimed at bridging modern IAM technology with big bank scale and complexity. This IAM Transformation program is projected to last over 5 years and will cover all aspects of IAM from Authentication to elevated access. We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Test Engineer to join our team in Sheffield, working in a hybrid capacity three days a week onsite. In this role, you will collaborate closely with tech leads, Cloud Security, DevOps, and Application Engineering teams to test secure, scalable identity and access workflows across Google Cloud Platform.
