We require candidates to have a solid experience of at least 3 years as an Automation Test Developer, with proficiency in automation tooling and framework creation, particularly using Java and SQL. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with stakeholder engagement at all levels, are essential. You should be able to develop and execute test plans, test cases, and related documentation based on requirements and technical specifications. A strong background in automated test scripting using JavaScript and experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, and RestAssured for various testing needs is needed. Familiarity with Jenkins for pipeline management and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for planning, developing, executing, and improving automated test frameworks and scripts for web and database applications. You will accurately report and track defects, attend triage meetings, and verify bug fixes. Youll identify process and application issues, provide improvement suggestions, and adapt to new technologies as required. Youll be working closely with team members, performing test case reviews for coverage and traceability, and liaising with technical leads on scenario definitions. Additionally, you may mentor other engineers within the team and be involved in DevOps and CI/CD integration, ensuring that automation tests are added to GitLab CI/CD pipelines.

Description
The position is a contract role based in Sheffield with a hybrid setup, requiring you to be onsite 3 days a week until 30/11/2026. We offer a competitive rate of up to £383.03 per day inside IR35. Candidates with previous experience in Identity and Access Management, especially those familiar with protocols like SCIM, REST API, and OIDC, will find an advantage. Skills in Java, Python, database testing, and familiarity with tools such as QMetry, Test Rail, and others will enhance your application.
