Requirements
Must:
We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in Android development using Kotlin and Android Studio. You should have a passion for mobile development and stay updated on the latest Android development trends and best practices. A solid understanding of Android design principles and interface guidelines is essential, along with the ability to embrace collaboration when building solutions. You must be familiar with MVVM Architecture and associated design patterns, and able to apply SOLID principles to enhance code structure, quality, and maintainability. We value a DevOps mindset and understanding of the interplay between software and infrastructure. Experience with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and the implementation of pipelines is required. You should proactively seek solutions to issues that arise, have experience in troubleshooting/debugging application bugs, and be skilled in making performance improvements. Knowledge of Gradle, mobile app analytics, Jetpack Compose, integration with RESTful APIs, and handling concurrency are also necessary.
Responsibilities
As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will design, document, and develop high-quality, scalable solutions for our Android application using Kotlin. You will create appropriate unit and integration tests for your work, ensuring that your code is clean, maintainable, and efficient, adhering to best practices and coding standards. Optimizing solutions for performance and speed to enhance user experience is a priority. You will ensure the application meets Google Play Store requirements while collaborating closely with UI/UX designers to implement a visually intuitive design. Additionally, you will support what you deliver in production.
Description
This role is a 6-month contract based in London with the flexibility for remote work. The compensation is £600 per day inside IR35, umbrella only. We are passionate about developing and maintaining features for our Android variant of the client’s app, providing a first-class experience to millions of users across England.
